As a native New Yorker, the Virgin Mary seems to occupy a place in many of my memories. In my adventures documenting her, I've discoverd that Virgin imagery is as diverse as NY itself, and many times reflects insights into the character of a particular neighborhood, ethnicity, etc. I haven't been as succesful documenting her in Manhattan - apparently, she is well loved by borough folk :) And I haven't had a chance to visit my hometown of Yonkers, where seems to exist on every block. If you live in NY or surrounding areas, and you have a Virgin decorating your home, send me a pic. I would greatly appreciate it!
